Demon Stick is a darkly comedic and punishing ascent through the depths of Hell, presented with a distinct visual identity inspired by the nightmarish works of Hieronymus Bosch. The game follows a demon whose soul, after a successful exorcism, has been sealed inside an ordinary stick. Cast back into Hell, he awakens at the very bottom and begins a long, difficult climb toward Dad’s throne in hopes of reclaiming his former demonic form.
This is a rage game through and through. Players guide the stick-bound demon across twisted, surreal environments designed to test both precision and patience. Each layer of Hell features unsettling scenery and bizarre creatures inspired by Bosch’s haunting imagery, creating an atmosphere that feels both grotesque and strangely captivating.
Controls are deliberately simple, while movement demands accuracy and care. A single mistake can send the player tumbling downwards, sometimes undoing minutes of progress. The contrast between minimal mechanics and unforgiving level design gives every upward step a sense of tension and every slip a pang of frustration.
With its physics-driven challenges, relentless difficulty, and environments inspired by classical visions of torment, the game leans fully into its hellish theme. It offers an experience where small victories feel earned and failure is frequent.
The Demon Stick Demo is available now, featuring two seamlessly connected introductory levels. The full version, planned for release next year, includes nine layers of Hell for players to climb through.
